I've heard from Page directly why Peter was "dismissed" from Helmet.
Here, Peter exlplains his side of the story. Personally, I think was hard done by!

Great stuff! You are quite the font of Helmet historical info. I must admit I am tickled pink to see the two YouTube clips, which I only posted a month ago, referenced in Mengede's interview when he discusses the difference in sound between Helmet's original amp setup and the fancy new one they got in 1992. Don't I feel special

Love the look of that black Les Paul. Incidentally, we were going to see Helmet on that tour when they had that accident. When the rest of that tour got cancelled for Helmet, Ice-T's band Body Count filled in for them.
