Haha. Yeah, thanks for sharing those photos again. Some other really cool non-Helmet ones in there too.

Thanks man. It's a shame really; I lost the originals of all those photos in a hard-drive mishap. I learned to back up more throughly, but at an unfortunate cost. C'est la vie.

Ouch, that sucks. At least you had some of them stored online.

So is the big announcement the news about the European Meantime 20th anniversary tour? It looks like a very thorough tour with lots of dates, which is cool. But I just wondered whether there was also other news still forthcoming...

Awesome, isn't it? Here they play in the same venue they played last time, it's not bad. And I bet they play Meantime in reverse order, isn't that what they did already? Pumped!

Like new album news? I don't think it will happen any time soon but wouldn't say no if it does.

Yeah, you just called it an "announcement". But I was thinking more of Dan tweeting that "Good things are in the works", and some similar statement that was up for a day or so on the main page (before the update to say "Meantime 20th Anniversary - European Tour"). Just made me think some kind of album related news was coming, or something out of the ordinary. Sounds like a cool tour, but a tour announcement was not what I really expected. Happy for you guys, though. 8) Now I can kick myself another couple times for missing them here in October.

Speaking of the 20th anniversary of Meantime, I also wondered if there would be any kind of super spectacular anniversary edition Meantime release, but I'm not sure what would go on it. Maybe the regular 10 songs, remastered, plus extras from that era... but all I can think of would be Just Another Victim, Oven, and Primitive (I think those are the right timeframe for Meantime). The Betty digital reissue came out for no particular anniversary, but at least the extra tracks for that were well known as Betty b-sides.

Ah, imagination and fervent fandom is a potent mix. No new album announcement yet, I'm afraid. But a little hype pays off: this site saw over 7 times its usual daily traffic yesterday, the highest number of visits in a single day its ever had by a wide margin. That – especially if it translates into ticket sales – is the kind of thing that will keep them touring and making music. So it's all good.

No, I'm not sure either. I'd love a remaster though: I always disliked the sound on Meantime. Perhaps a commemorative cheese?

Haha, imagination and fervent fandom is indeed a potent mix. At least I wasn't convinced the band would be playing shows on my backyard patio every weekend. Speaking of which, the default user titles here... "Obsessive Compulsive"? I know I have a lot of posts here in comparison to the others, but this post count is nothing compared to many posters on many other forums (I mean fora!).

And yes, good point about increased interest hopefully leading to increased ticket sales, etc.

I know, but you have to set a bar that's achievable relative to the circumstances, right? Just so happens that you achieved obsessive compulsive status far more easily than either of us thought possible.

So is the European Meantime tour all done now? Wonder what's next in Helmet-land...

Page has mentioned the possibility of a US tour later this year. It's being worked on, so no dates or anything…

A last.fm-friend who went to the show in Hondarriba or what it's called said that Page hasn't ruled out the idea of another record and that they are probably gonna tour with Biffy Clyro together.

Also, some general official tour review would be nice. From what I've heard and seen on some facebook pages and fotos several shows were sold out which leads me to the thought that it might have been a moderate success even?

On the main page, there's a new promo video from Monocase. In the video, Page is playing a guitar riff that I'm pretty sure we've never heard before, so of course the question becomes: Could this be a sneak preview of new material to come? Inquiring minds want to know. 8)

Would be nice to think so, but in an email yesterday discussing promoting the video with the guy from Mono, Page congratulated them (Mono) on editing his "improvised Helmet-riff-ramble" into something that sounded decent... so I think he was just arseing about for the purposes of the video.
