Embedding YouTube videos in posts

You can now embed YouTube videos directly into your posts using the "YouTube" BBCode button on the formatting bar, right above the text box.

You only need to enter the ID of the video, not the full URL. For example, to embed this video:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8j_TDoOPnIA

You'd only need enter the 8j_TDoOPnIA part, between the YouTube BBCode tags, like this:

[YouTube]8j_TDoOPnIA[/YouTube]

Putting the full URL won't work. I'm not sure why this is, and I want to change it at some point since a full URL method seems less likely to cause confusion, but for now it'll have to do.

The admin sections in phpBB3 are pretty unintuitive, so I tend to have these periodic eureka! moments where I realise how to do something that strikes me as useful or fun. Keeps me off the streets.
