I should think so... after the Nosturi gig on tuesday, Kyle said that they were going to start recording in april, and Page said a new album is due to come out in august. This from the men themselves.

Well, my birthday's in August, so thanks Page & Co.! On the other hand I'll most likely be studying abroad in Beijing at the time, here's hoping I'll be able to catch the band on tour in the East Coast US before or after I go.

Yeah, I think / wish the album thing is quite sure... didn't have the possibility to ask too much, but they seemed really casual about it.

In a way, it's funny to hear about a new album, since I didn't even know about Monochrome... But I'm waiting eagerly, since the band really performed really well live.

Damn right. This is just slack, they could've taken a porta-studio out with them and recorded while touring. Honestly, nobody has a serious work ethic anymore.

Excellent point. Well, I tell you, I'm not standing for this shit anymore. I'm selling all of my Helmet albums and related paraphernalia, and deleting their website. When they finally see fit to quit sitting around all day listening to Black Sabbath and getting high, and actually record something, then I shall be telling them to shove their damned album right up where the sun dosen't shine. Yeah.

I think we need a joint effort for a movement for "Not supporting lazy rockstars with no touch to everyday working peoples lives and work morale". And just to show some pride, let's not SELL our albums, let's just give them away for free! That's going to show those "rockstars" the worth of their work!

And I'm not going to listen to any Helmet while waiting for the new record to come out, at which point I'll not buy the new record, and just start listening again to the old records because the new one is probably going to be some old guy's jazzy sell-out mainstream radio-rock so not worth waiting for in the first place.

So be brave, be different, join the movement!

It's April now... wonder whether this has started yet.

Hopefully...you know, I'm sort of hoping they decide to release some footage of the recording process for the album. Nothing much, just a minute or two here and there, but something to give us an indication of what the result's going to sound like.
