Anyway, disappointed to hear about how the packaging is "Oddly shaped, horrible disc storage, thin, doesn't say Helmet on the spine, no booklet". I purchased it to get the booklet and an original CD with top quality sound, and of course because it's Helmet. Otherwise I would have just done the "digital only" option and also saved on shipping costs. I knew it was a digipak, but I can't believe it is too thin to even have a spine with the name on it, or that it has no booklet. I remember Page mentioning that the artwork continues to the inside and there is some cool effect to look at with a mirror... not sure what that means. So no booklet means no lyrics? And just minimal printed information on the inside of the cover or something?

Also, is the live CD packaged separately or somehow attached to the SED packaging? Thanks.

I actually didn't download anything they sent me. I explained to them that I paid to have the physical CD sitting on my doorstep on the 7th which still didn't happen a week later and that I had no use for the digital files (which is true). They said it will take a few days to credit me. I will say the sound quality on the CD is good. That's one positive thing. It's basically a tri-fold digipack and each disc slides into the sides from the inside. No plastic tray or anything to hold them. The case is pretty thin but it does have writing on the spine. It just says "Seeing Eye Dog". It's oddly shaped though. It's a bit "taller" than a standard case so you might not be able to fit it on your cd rack. Page's description is accurate. The art continues to the inside and the "cool mirror effect" is the lyrics. The inside has the lyrics backwards so would you have to hold it up to a mirror to see them properly. Like I said, the live CD is on the right side of the trifold but I didn't see anything on the package about it. The backcover just lists the 10 songs from the regular album. I hope this answers your questions. I will post some pics tonight so it makes more sense. Just a note, if you go to Best Buy, most dont' have it. Only one store in my area had a single copy so I bought it off the website and did store pickup.

Darth Marino, did you get into contact with them by email only, or by phone as well? I've been waiting for a reply from someone, but no one has answered me yet through email. This whole thing sucks to be frank. I think someone from the band's management needs to get on here and explain what the hell is going on.

I think I emailed them Saturday and they got back to me late last night. I emailed them through the website link from my order confirmation.

Thanks for the pics and further info, DarthMarino. One other question: did you e-mail TopSpin or Audiolife? I think TopSpin handled the orders and charging cards (and e-mailing the download links), but that Audiolife is handling the actual shipping of CDs and vinyl.

What happened to the track "Tranquilized" ?

Should have been included on the new LP instead of "Your Bird Can Sing" or Track 6"

Gladly, though it'd be handy if you could send me a copy of what Audiolife have sent you (either PM or email via the webmaster contact details on the main site). Alternatively, feel free to cut out the middle man and email Maine Road direct; their details are on the main site, too.

Honestly, though I don't know the extent to which Maine Road and the band are aware of the mess this release is in, I suspect Maine Road are already all over it. Still, it doesn't hurt to register your dissatisfaction.

My latest e-mail from Audiolife says this:

"The Helmet orders were packaged today and will be shipping out by the end of the week guaranteed. The orders will be shipped from Los Angeles via USPS."

Weird, I emailed Maine Road Management, and this is what they told me:

We are pushing to ship the deluxe packages next week, by the end of the week. I will get your second laminate out to you tomorrow.

If I didn't say so already, thanks for being such a great fan and supporter of Helmet. Their fans mean the world to them and we are doing everything in our power to give you the best we can.

cheers

^ Not that logic has any place in this fiasco, but maybe the difference is that mine is not a deluxe package... I only ordered the CD+Digital package.

just hopped in to say i've been digging this album from moment 1 of the first track. "morphing" is a little unexpected - that's what i'm up to now.

let's see how the rest of it holds up

edit: yep "and your bird can sing" is out of place but other than those two tracks this is what I was hoping for out of Helmet

I was sent this by Audiolife tonight. Looks like the deluxe packages have been shipped.

All Helmet orders were shipped out today. The laminates themselves were actually shipped out by the label separately and they must have mistakenly sent you only one. I have sent a note to them requesting that they send you another and they will be do so ASAP. Sorry for the incomplete shipment and delays but we'll be sure to get you all of the merch that you purchased.

Thank you for your patience in this matter.

Best,

Ana

Thanks to all for passing on info about pending merch shipping. I received my laminate today from management! A question about the laminate though, the website states it allows the wearer to meet the band and access to all shows. Does that mean I don't need to buy a ticket for show? Thanks
