Holy crap, I thought we'd never see this! I thought that hard drive (and my $5.00 contribution) was as good as gone!

Finally finished downloading the torrent last night (and now I'm seeding it). Looks and sounds great!

Thanks a million, 21st!

What do you guys think about this:
(It's a quick preview at 1/3 size of the original, and the red outlines are just there to indicade where the inlay goes)

I suppose I'm finished with the torrent tomorrow, as it's really fast right now, then I probably choose some better pics for the back side.

Do you think there should be some more information written on the bottom of the back side? (I'm askin 21stcentury here, especially)

Wow, I think that came out really nice RM! Only things I would change personally is:

1. On the front cover, I'd say "Live In Falls Church, Virginia" and then underneath that, "October 3rd, 2005."

2. Milktoast should be spelled "Milquetoast" per the Betty album spelling.

3. The "k" in the track I Know should be capitalized.

4. The side bar should also read "Helmet - Live In Falls Church, Virginia." Right now it says "Helmet - Live Falls Church..."

The only other thing I would change is the chapters, but that's part of the DVD. I would have created chapter 1 to finish when Pure ends and chapter 2 to start when Smart begins and so on. The band pausing between songs should not have been made it's own chapters IMO. In other words there should only be 17 chapters, not 24.

Don't get me wrong though, I appreciate the DVD! Just offering my honest critique is all.

RockMessiah, it's beautiful!!!

I agree with the candid remarks above, the empty chapters should be removed, for clarity. It does not matter if they do not match the extra way the DVD was partitioned.

This is definetly a great recording. The soundboard audio was a great touch, and the old stuff sounded great. Even the new stuff sounded really good. I also like the extra touches that Page puts on his solos. It actually makes me interested in seeing them again.

BTW, I have a fast connection, so I will continue to seed the hell out of this torrent. Thanks for the cover, Rock Messiah.

Good points Red Dog, I'll change that tomorrow. Cept for the october thing on the cover front, I rather add that info on the back, because it looks better if the text is shorter stays in one line IMO.
I also agree on the chapter thing, looks a bit weird, but for the 15 minutes I worked on this first version I just copied the track listing from the torrent site.
If I remove the "empty chapters" that will give some more space below, so I'll probably add some more smaller written info there, so that it looks even more pseudo-professional, hehe.

I dig that coverart!
you might also add the lineup to it and a bit more credits (recorded by cabbage etc).

As for the chapters, I think the announcements are sometimes really worth checking out. So I gave them extra tracks. I mean if theres a 3 minute song and then its followed by a 2 minute announcement, then I tend not to have all that as one 5 minute track. If you dont wanna watch the announcements then just skip to the next track, right?

But that's the way it should be IMO.

Sorry, I have to disagree. You should be able to simply choose a chapter and it should be the beginning of the next song. Any banter or pauses in between should be part of the song that they just finished. I wouldn't worry about people missing anything because I'm sure Helmet fans will watch it from beginning to end (at least the first time).

But hey, it's your call. :D

I have put the mp3 of the show in the upload folder of the ftp. It's 192 kb/s so it's only 109 Mb. The show sounds really good in itself, I would just hope that someone can give it a little more punch. If it works, then I'll use the new mix on the DivX movie.

I can do something with AUDIO but you know i dosen't have a bass , other thing is that everthing is on one track so I can't do the mix , I can just do the master for example cut of the hum you can hear it between the songs I hate it , I think that it's becouse of cables .

Ok here's the new version of the inlay, this time in full size, so if there are any more corrections due, tell me, otherwise you can go and print it, I think it should be around 27cm / 10,5 inch width @300dpi .
56k users beware :P . But those should be in the minority if they downloaded a 4 gig DVD.

I downloaded the mp3 and hopefully this evening I can see if there's anything that can be done to it.

Oh and before I forget, I d/led the torrent, too, great quality footage, many many thanks to cabbage and 21thcentury for making all this possible :) .

Looks fantastic, RM! The only other minor correction I can see that's needed is the apostrophe is missing from Wilma's Rainbow. Other than that, it's great.

I noticed that too, but didn't give a damn, as I thought it's really a minor thing and under optical judgements, I think it looks better without the ' cause it's nowhere else in the tracklisting (insert more pathetic excuses here) :P .
Anyways, thanks for your feedback, glad you like it!

as for audio re-engineering, please dont forget that I have the source audio here too... For the DVD's audio I encoded that (an AIFF file, which is the Mac form of WAV file) to an AC3 DVDaudio file with Bitrate 256 or 320KBS, so its beyond the mp3s quality anyway. size of the original audio file is ~850MB. i might upload this one somewhere too...
