Dude,
Michael from here has sent me bunch of VHS tapes so I could put them on DVD and divX movies for the fans... Also, he asked me to send you DVDs so you could do your magic on them (video and mix) but I have a problem. I am not sure how to solve this.
- a one hour VHS movie ends up taking more than 12 Gigs of space on my hard drive. This means I'm going to end up transferring easily 70 Gigs of uncompressed videos to my computer. There is no way I can put all this on DVDs (about 20). Or should I?
- Should I compress the videos to a format that you would like? I tried mpeg2 and it reduced the size to 2.5 gigs.
- Should we invest in a harddrive (the one you shipped to the US for the last DVD you worked on) and I transfer all the uncompressed videos on it for you?
- if we decide to compress the video to a suitable format, can you give me advices on how to make it that I do not have any "lines" appearing? It's like everything looks fuzzy. I wonder if this is what interlacing is? Would you recomment me some good setup to make a video look perfect once compressed?
- about the sound. Some of these videos have a relatively good sound. I have played a little bit with SoundForge 8 and boosted the bass a little bit. I've done it on one video already (Houston 05/16/1993) and it sounds badass, but I think you would be better than me at that. If I sent you the lossless sound file, would you agree to remix it to the proper levels?
I need help! haha
