Aw man, for a second I thought they had something new out there. Haven't listened to them in a long time although I dig them. What's up with new stuff by the way?

Amplifier is currently in the final recording stages for "The Octopus", to be released some time in 2010. I haven't figured out if this will be a double album or not, but I´m sure this will be one of the longest albums in the history of mankind. There are some new songs spread over their different myspaces, it's a lot more diverse. Really like the title track so far.

Thanks for the information, good to know - time to check out their MySpace again (I am friends with one, so there are more?).
Saw them live once on the Insider tour and they ruled although it was probably the loudest shows I ever attended, meaning way too loud. They gave out ear plugs at the bar which I realized only after it was over. But what do you expect of a band with that name?

Yep...Axe To Fall is also on my playlist frequently, such a good album. Can't wait for the vinyl to arrive.

Yes, me too. I wasn't too sure what to make of it the first couple spins, but as expected from DEP it has been growing on me with ferocious speed since then. I think I like it slightly better than Ire Works and Miss Machine overall (and I only like their stuff since Greg Puciato joined, honestly), simply because it is more consistent overall than either of those. Both of those albums had excellent songs but also some kind of weak or at least weird moments, with either filler tracks or mediocre songs peppered in. But Option Paralysis is just ten great songs, start to finish. And even though it feels cohesive and consistent, it also has a lot of variety, both within songs and also from song to song. There is more multi-part song structure than before, and Greg's best vocals and lyrics to date IMO. The new drummer is just as good as the previous ones, too.
