Yeah folks, that was sweet. It's also nice to notice there's so many people on FB actually being fans of Helmut. Maybe more then 5 people will now buy the Betty digital reissue :) Everything seems to be going nicely for teh helmets :)

We've all probably seen that we can currently get two free live tracks (MP3) from the upcoming Live in SF '06 album. But what does anyone make of the new tagline on the front page, which mentions those tracks...

"Sign up below for free live tracks and a special bonus track in the near future!"

Bonus track? Could it be an early release track from SED? Hmmm.

We're living exciting times now, it's damned great to be a Helmet fan :)
In the meantime, Betty...strap it on. Size matters.

Hi new to these boards but been reading them for a while.

Gotta a question: I just checked the Wikipedia entry for SEEING EYE DOG and the have a track-listing. Any one here know if this is the real deal or is someone taking the piss?

Supposed track list:
So Long
Seeing Eye Dog
Welcome To Algiers
LA Water
In Person
Morphing
White City
And Your Bird Can Sing
Miserable
She's Lost

Hoping this is real. If it is I was also hoping Revenge Destroys Everything would end up on here. Oh well.

Looks like it could be real. There's a full review here: http://thenewreview.net/reviews/helmet-seeing-eye-dog/comment-page-1 Plus they even have cover art:

I know its the internet and you can't believe everything but this doesn't reek of a hoax. There would just be no point. In the comments they say they got a review copy this week.

Now I can say it ... Page played for me whole album from his Ipod , 3 weeks ago .I would say that "Seeing Eye Dog " is a mix of really heavy and poppy music . In my opinion 2nd song which is "Seeing eye dog " is the best ."LA Water " is totally different that others Helmet songs , reminds me Gandhi songs "Black light " and "sleep " .As I remember White City has a lot of solo playing . "So Long " sounds a little bit like "On your way down " .The Beatles cover is slower that original version ."Welcome in Algiers " is kind of poppy one .The last begins like "Rock Mashiah" ... I was listen to it just 3 times so forgive me some mistakes :)

I'm really having a problem with the alleged cover art. I hope that's not it.

I'm pretty sure it has to be especially considering the site that it's posted on has the 3 song samples.

From the samples it sounds like Monochrome part II. No surprise though, as my expectations were low...

Just heard the snippets, sounds OK so far, will reserve judgement on hearing full shebang. And that cover ain't doing it for me either, looks like some kinda bootleg. On the other hand we are getting a new studio album with a live album ala Pink Floyds UMMAGUMMA, that's damn cool. Any other bands ever do this?

For real. That drop shadow is so 90's ("HEY, I just discovered this awesome function in Photoshop 1.0...let me show you...put some more...MORE..."). Helmet cover art was always weak imo (except Betty).

Ummagumma for me is a live album, with some studio output of the individual band members in addition, but I was thinking hard whether I know any other bands, actually I am sure there are lots but I just recalled a few. Sometimes bands re-reissue albums with a live set on a bonus disc, I had a Incubus 2xCD which was like that. Sophia did it too. Pavement did add a free 12" live record to the pre-orders of the "Brighten The Corners" re-issue. And Taint added a live Roadburn set to the digital download that came with their last EP. I have an album from a small band called Highfield, they added a CD-R with a live set to their latest LP...which I find much better than the LP itself.
Ok, but the bottom line is...it's just great that Helmet does it too. And they do it right I am sure. Can't wait to brag about my new USB stick.
