High on Fire

Postby scissorfight » Fri Nov 09, 2007 12:15 am

I think their 1st album "Art of Self Defense" is a classic if you're into heavy rock/metal. It was a breath of fresh air when I heard it several years ago. Their 2 subsequent albums..."Surrounded by Thieves" and "Blessed Black Wings" didn't hit me the same way.....

but the new release "Death is This Communion" has brought me back. Sort of like fast sludge rock, in the same veign as Motorhead, Acid King, Earthride, etc.

anybody else diggin this new album?

They're crushing live. They make A LOT of noise for a three piece. They're super tight too. I'd recommend seeing them live if you get a chance.
